Most important issues
Nordic Ecolabelling welcomes comments on the criteria document as a whole, but would particularly like to highlight the following proposed changes:
- All fuels, including liquid fuels, must be based on biomass defined as waste or residues, and the maximum permitted level of additives of non-renewable origin has been further restricted (requirement O2).
- Energy crops are now restricted in biogas production (requirement O3).
- A new requirement regarding used cooking oil, UCO, has been introduced (requirement O4).
- Stricter levels on reduction of greenhouse gases have been introduced (requirement O6).
- For biogas production, either real-time monitoring or LDAR program is now required (requirement O7).
