Public consultation on Painting services

During the consultation period, Nordic Ecolabelling gives you the opportunity to comment on our proposal for new criteria for Painting services.

Nordic Ecolabelling are proposing new requirements for Painting services. You are welcome to respond to the proposal no later than 19 of August 2026.

A compilation of the consultation responses, with answers from Nordic Ecolabelling and the names of the responding organisations, will be published on the Nordic Swan Ecolabel web page.

Most important issues

      Requirements related to the share of ecolabelled products, and that non-ecolabelled products must comply with the requirements in Nordic Ecolabelling’s supplier portal.
  • Requirements related to the share of ecolabelled products, and that non-ecolabelled products must comply with the requirements in Nordic Ecolabelling’s supplier portal.
  • Requirement related to choice and use of covering materials. Input is invited on specific applications or situations where re‑usable cover materials are suitable, and where plastic sheeting can be avoided.
  • Requirement on re-use and cleaning of painting tools. Input on the practical possibilities for complying with this requirement is invited.
  • Requirements on purchase and share of electric vehicles.
  • Requirements on waste reduction and use of leftover paint. Input is invited on possible measures that could contribute to reducing waste.
  • In relation to required documentation in the form of routines, input is invited on whether these are already in place (e.g. in employee handbooks), or whether example routines would be useful.
