Cleaning of liquid damaged electronics is in itself a business that stimulate the circular economy, since it prolongs the lifetime of the electronic product - and thereby reduces the amount of electronic waist and the need to produce new electronic product.
The Nordic Swan Ecolabel focus on assuring that the costumer experiences the service as a good alternative to throwing out and buying new products, and to assure that the service is done with as small an environmental impact as possible.

The licence fee for the Nordic Swan Ecolabelled service is calculated based on the number of units saved from the workshops that are part of the licence (in the whole world):
Per successful laptop 1.03 EUR Per successful tablet and phone 0.54 EUR Minimum fee in the Nordic region 2 232 EUR per year. Fixed fee applicable to turnover outside the Nordic region 2 232 EUR per year for turnover exceeding 300 000 EUR. Fee for extension / change of licence
Fixed fee that is charged depending on how long the work takes.
Up to 4 hours 418 EUR 4-8 hours 836 EUR 8 or more hours 1 673 EUR Fee for on-site inspections
One on-site visit within the Nordic region is included in the application for a new or renewed licence.

Information on the latest version of the criteria for Nordic Ecolabelled cleaning of liquid-damaged electronics
2.0: New criteria
Nordic Ecolabelling adopted version 2.0 of the criteria for Cleaning of liquid damaged electronics on 13 November 2024. The criteria are valid until 31 October 2029.
1.1 ⇛ 1.2: Prolongation of the validity of the criteria
The valdity of the criteria has been prolonged with 6 months. The new version is called 1.2. and is valid to 1 June 2025.
1.0 ⇛ 1.1: Adjustment of requirements
In requirement O2, the rescue percentage has been adjusted. The new version is called 1.1.
1.0: New criteria
New criteria for the cleaning of liquid-damaged electronics have been adopted. The criteria are version 1.0 and are valid even on December 31, 2024.
