Sustainable raw materials and biodiversity

Biodiversity is deteriorating and species are being lost at high speed. One of the drivers is the growing use of biological raw materials and the derived changes in land and sea use, which is limiting species’ habitats.

Biodiversity has a value in itself and is crucial to sustain nature’s contribution to people (ecosystem services) and ability to respond to change. With the aid of the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, we strive to counteract loss of species and deterioration of ecosystems, and to ensure that sourcing of biological raw materials is in balance with regeneration.
